John Laurinaitis was the former Head of Talent Relations of WWE and made headlines after allegedly being involved in Vince McMahon’s hush money settlement scandal. It all came crashing down right after that in a huge way as he was let go by WWE. He was named in Vince McMahon’s trafficking lawsuit and now his lawyer claimed that he is a victim.
As previously reported, Vince McMahon faces accusations of sexual trafficking and other misconduct from former WWE employee Janel Grant. In her lawsuit, Grant alleges McMahon shared explicit content of her without consent, involving other WWE employees, unnamed executives, and stars, directing her to engage in sexual activities with them.
John Laurinaitis was also named in the lawsuit, where it was alleged he also had sex with Janel Grant. According to VICE News, John Laurinaitis’ attorney Edward Brennan claimed that his client is a victim like Janel Grant.
“Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media. Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.”
In response to a follow-up question seeking clarification that he was asserting Vince McMahon as the predator and Laurinaitis, like Grant, as a victim, Brennan stated, “Read the allegations. Read the Federal Statute. Power, control, employment supervisory capacity, dictatorial sexual demands with repercussions if not met. Count how many times in the complaint Vince exerts control over both of them.”
The lawsuit prompted Vince McMahon to resign from WWE and TKO for good. WWE has also removed all traces of McMahon following the lawsuit. We’ll have to see what will become of John Laurinaitis in the end.
