Kota Ibushi might be one of the most beloved stars in pro wrestling but his performance over the past year has left a lot to be desired. At the beginning of this year, he was part of one of the worst matches in NOAH history, and Ibushi had to get surgery after the bout. Now, he almost ended up injuring himself doing an insane workout following his ankle surgery.
During the main event of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s ‘The New Year 2024,’ Naomichi Marufuji and Kota Ibushi faced off in a singles match that lasted over 30 minutes. However, the match received considerable backlash on social media, with many fans expressing concern that Kota Ibushi appeared to be dealing with injuries throughout the entire bout. The situation escalated as Ibushi was promptly taken to the hospital after the match after breaking his ankles.
Kota Ibushi’s extensive injuries after the match were also revealed and he underwent ankle surgery after torn ligaments there. He also noted how he might need additional surgeries as well.
Ibushi took to his Instagram and uploaded a video of himself performing an insane handstand following his surgery. He almost ended up injuring himself by landing on his neck at an awkward angle.
”4 weeks and still no weight but my first workout. That means straying. I can’t even stand a lie. Holy s***!! And feet are terrible too!!”
Kota Ibushi has the potential to be a significant player for Tony Khan if he can maintain good health. Unfortunately, this prospect did not materialize, and he is set to miss a substantial portion of 2024 due to injuries. Fans are hopeful for a positive update on Kota Ibushi’s condition in the future.
