Cody Rhodes had set his sights on one goal – to finish his story by becoming the World Champion at WrestleMania 40. To achieve this, Rhodes was determined to win the Royal Rumble, something that he accomplished. Rhodes also was a major merchandise seller at the event.

The American Nightmare entered the Men’s Royal Rumble match with high hopes and determination to emerge victorious. He successfully eliminated top stars including Gunther and eventually CM Punk, earning himself a spot at WrestleMania 40.

According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, Cody Rhodes had a significant weekend in terms of merchandise sales. Internal memos suggested that he was the top-selling superstar at the WWE Superstore at Tropicana Field. Additionally, the “Rumble Winner” shirt was the best-selling item on the WWE Shop.

Cody Rhodes also has yet to announce his WrestleMania 40 opponent and there is a very good reason for that. We will have to wait and see when he will reveal his opponent in the end.

The American Nightmare is such a massive star now and fans are clearly invested in his story, as they all want him to finish his story at The Showcase of The Immortals, so they will keep on buying his merchandise no matter what.
