The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament was first introduced in 2015 in honor of the late great Dusty Rhodes.
Over the years, this tournament has produced several winners who have gone on to become tag team champions. Needless to say, the tournament has produced several tag team stars over the years.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was announced this year with several of the top teams from NXT aiming for a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship. Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker formed a unique alliance and were the first team to make it to the finals of the tournament.
Tonight on WWE NXT, the Latino World Order was set to face off against Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams in the second semi-finals where the winner will go on to face Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker in the finals.
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams started off the match in impressive fashion but LWO made a comeback. The match was filled with some good spots like when Williams hit the double Rock Bottom on LWO and tried to pin them both. LWO came close to winning but Williams made the save. In the end, Williams hit the jumping knee for the win.
With this win, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams will face Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker in the finals at NXT Vengeance Day on 4th February. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we bring you live coverage of NXT.
