Vince McMahon recently resigned from all of his roles in the WWE, following a series of allegations levied against the former Chairman from an ex-employee. The news put a dampener on the weekend’s Royal Rumble event, which was one of the biggest shows of the year.
The event gave no reference to McMahon at all, although Brock Lesnar was reportedly removed from the show due to his part in the allegations towards McMahon. However, when pressed about the allegations at the presser after the show, Triple H seemingly brushed them off and didn’t want to provide any insight.
The former WWE Chairman released a statement through Deadline three days ago announcing his resignation from the company. It ended 42-years of McMahon in the WWE.
“Out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business and its board members and shareholders, partners and constituents, and all of the employees and Superstars who helped make WWE into the global leader it is today, I have decided to resign from my executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effectively immediately.”
TKO, the parent company behind both the WWE and the UFC, submitted an SEC filing in relation to McMahon’s resignation. This filing, which was released on Monday morning, said the following:
“On January 26, 2024, Vincent K. McMahon notified the board of directors (the “Board”) of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. (“TKO”) of his resignation from his positions as Executive Chair and a member of the Board, and any other positions, employment or otherwise, he has at TKO and its subsidiaries, in each case, with immediate effect as of January 26, 2024.”
This filing proved that McMahon was completely gone from the WWE, vacating every position he held within the company.
