Andrade’s AEW contract status was clarified after Tony Khan confirmed that he would not be staying with AEW, officially making him a free agent. Andrade waited for the right moment and made his return during the Royal Rumble last week. Now, his status for WWE RAW has been revealed.
During AEW Worlds End last year, Andrade was unable to beat Miro in a singles match, which ended up becoming his final bout in the promotion. Tony Khan then gave a ton of praise to Andrade in the post-event press conference.
Andrade made his return to WWE during the Men’s Royal Rumble match, entering at number 4. He lasted twenty-three minutes in the match but was ultimately eliminated by Bronson Reed.
According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, it was reported that Andrade is set to appear on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW, which will be his first appearance in a very long time.
”Andrade finished up with AEW at World’s End, and most everyone in the company knew he was headed back to WWE, as he made it clear he wouldn’t be returning to AEW. Many in the both WWE and AEW actually expected him to debut earlier than he did, because they thought WWE may want to pull of the visual that they were able to snag away an AEW star who had appeared on PPV just two days prior. As of this afternoon, Andrade was scheduled for tonight’s WWE Raw.”
Andrade also made it clear that nobody would be stopping him after his WWE return. We will have to wait and see what the company will have planned for him for tonight’s WWE RAW.
