The Road to WrestleMania kicks off tonight with the Royal Rumble. Considering that WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest Premium Live Event of the year, a lot of thought goes into the show.
Most of the storylines for WrestleMania are planned out months in advance. This also included the main event as well as the logo, branding, stage sign, and even the theme song. WrestleMania is known for having some really great theme songs over the years.
For the past four years, The Weeknd’s songs have been chosen to be the official theme song for the show of shows. Blinding Lights was the official theme song for WrestleMania 36, followed by Save Your Tears for WrestleMania 37. WrestleMania 38’s theme song was Sacrifice while the theme song for last year’s WrestleMania was Less Than Zero.
WWE has now confirmed that Gasoline by The Weeknd will be the official theme song for WrestleMania 40 making him the only artist in WWE history to have five official theme songs five years in a row.
“With #WrestleMania season right around the corner,@TheWeeknd becomes the only artist in WWE history to have 5 Official Theme Songs 5 years in a row. “Gasoline” from the album Dawn FM is an Official Theme Song of #WrestleMania XL!”
