AEW made a strong debut in 2019, reaching its peak after All Out 2021 and gaining momentum to dominate the pro wrestling world. Obviously, the company has fallen from that level for a long time now, but it appears Tony Khan has now claimed AEW this year will be back on the same level as 2021.
The company has seen far days, as 2023 was one of the most divisive years in AEW history. This is largely due to the general decline in viewership as well as ticket sales, on top of an overall apathy for the product as a whole.
Despite this, AEW is looking to make 2024 a great year. In light of this, AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter and claimed that AEW in 2024 will be as good as 2021 for the company.
”2024 @AEW is the next 2021 AEW.”
In 2021, AEW experienced significant growth by signing notable free agents, including Andrade El Idolo, Malakai Black, Ruby Soho, CM Punk, Adam Cole, and Bryan Danielson.
With the likes of Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone being rumored to debut in AEW as well, perhaps what Tony Khan claimed might just come true in the end, should the debuts actually happen.
