WrestleMania is always the biggest time of the year for the WWE. They plan for the show months in advance and until the show, several news and rumors about the show get leaked online. Many people also post their spoilers and predictions about the show.
Recently, Sports Illustrated posted a story claiming that WrestleMania 40 will feature multiple matches different from what was presented on TV. The article claimed that the show would include matches such as CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER vs. Seth Rollins.
However, since that story broke, Justin Barrasso from Sports Illustrated has now recanted the story by claiming that he was deliberately handed false information. He also claimed that this false information is being spread through WWE itself.
“I reported spoilers for Sports Illustrated yesterday regarding the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 40. I reported what was detailed to me by previously reliable sources. It appears this was a deliberate attempt at misinformation, or misinformation that is being spread through WWE itself. I apologize for the errors in yesterday’s report. When posting these reports, the entirety of the information needs to accurate.“
