Kenny Omega was ready to go after the AEW World Tag Team Championships with Chris Jericho. However, he is currently sidelined due to diverticulitis, preventing the anticipated tag team venture. Now we have a positive update on his health after his delayed surgery.
As previously reported, Kenny Omega’s life hung in the balance as there was a 50% chance of death due to his severe illness. It was then reported that Omega was facing an indefinite hiatus as his surgery was delayed.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Kenny Omega’s recent treatment included antibiotic treatments, which seem to be effective.
While surgery may still be a possibility, the latest update indicates that Kenny Omega is improving and that there is optimism for a full recovery.
“I was told that one of the things with Kenny’s deal was that they had to pump him full of antibiotics. Apparently, the antibiotics are working. So he may still need surgery but the last report that I got, which was 20 minutes ago, was that things were looking up and that he was doing a lot better and hopefully going to make a full recovery.”
It was also reported that his career hangs in the balance as he awaits surgery. Only time will tell whether Omega will require surgery. Till then, we would like to give him our best and wish him a speedy recovery so that he can return to doing what he loves the best as soon as possible.
