WWE RAW Results (1/22/2024):

The opening package for the show airs.

CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are shown entering the arena.

Seth Rollins’ music plays and he walks to the ring. Rollins gets on the mic and says it has been a long week. He says he defended the World Title seven days ago against Jinder Mahal but he felt his knee buckle when he hit a moonsault. He says he still finished the match and beat Jinder Mahal.

He says when he went to the back and sat down it set in that he might be out for a long time. He says he had mentioned that with only title defense, he only got stronger but he felt like a liar after he got injured. He says he thought it was a real possibility that he might miss WrestleMania. He says he had an MRI and he got the results. He says he has an injured MCL and he could be out three to four months with surgery.

Rollins says he doesn’t know what the future holds and so he is taking it day by day. Imperium’s music hits and they walk out to the ring. Rollins says he doesn’t have time for this and they are here to make an example out of this, then they should get this over with. Gunther says Rollins should concentrate on him. He says they have been avoiding each other for some time now and hence, he thought today is the perfect day for him to tell Rollins what he thinks about him.

Gunther says Rollins was in a tough spot right from the beginning. He says Rollins was expected to be a champion that everybody can be proud of just like him. Gunther says it pulls on his heart strings to see him like this. He says he is sad that Rollins might not make it to WrestleMania.

Rollins says they should’ve let him finish. He says he doesn’t care what the doctors tell him, he will keep his promise and take his title into WrestleMania and he will do everything to walk out of WrestleMania the World Champion. Gunther says he is happy to hear it. He says he respects Seth’s decision because he would do the same thing. He says he is going to win the Royal Rumble and he will choose to challenge Rollins at WrestleMania and target his knee and back and he will defeat him and become the World Champion.

Rollins says he appreciates his honest. He says Gunther can challenge him but he should remember who he is coming after. Gunther says Rollins has to remember who is coming after him. They both shake hands and Gunther walks away.

The New Day attacks Imperium and sends them into the ring. They dump Imperium out of the ring.

The New Day vs Imperium

Giovanni Vinci hits Kofi Kingston with a crossbody. He attacks Kofi in the corner. Kofi comes back with a dropkick. Woods tags in and attacks Vinci in the corner. Vinci with a clothesline to Woods. He tags out.

Ludwig Kaiser attacks Woods. He attacks Woods in the corner. Kaiser mercilessly attacks Woods. Woods fights back with an enzuigiri sending Kaiser out of the ring. Woods sends Vinci out of the ring. Kaiser pulls Woods out of the ring. Vinci slams Woods on the apron and Kaiser sends him into the barricade.

*Commercial break*

Kofi with an elbow to Kaiser. He attacks him in the corner. Kofi sends Kaiser out of the ring. He dives onto Vinci and Kaiser. Vinci with a baseball slide kick to Kofi. Woods takes out Imperium. New Day attack Imperium. Kofi sends Kaiser into the barricade as the referee counts them out. Vinci sends Kofi into the crowd

Winner: Double Count Out

Woods and Kaiser exchange strikes. Kaiser sends Woods into the post and then into the timekeeper’s area. Kaiser goes to hit Kofi with a chair but Woods saves him and attacks Kaiser and Woods. Vinci and Woods double team Woods. Kofi and Woods drive Imperium through the table.

Judgment Day is backstage. Rhea says Damian and Finn will defend against DIY next week. Damian says Drew will get handled by him. He asks Rhea to stop going into Adam Pearce’s office looking to book matches. He walks away. Rhea says she is disappointed that JD and Dominik haven’t handled DIY. Rhea says Balor will be a ringside for Dominik’s match. She says it has been while since she has seen Balor’s vicious side.

Jackie interiews Ivy Nile. Maxxine says Valhalla is not ready for Ivy. Creed Brothers come in and try to boost her up. Ivy says she’s got it and heads out for her match.

Ivy Nile vs. Valhalla

Ivy Nile’s music plays and she comes out to the ring with Maxxine Dupri.

*Commercial break*

Valhalla’s theme song plays and she walks to the ring.

The match begins and Valhalla attacks Nile who rolls out of the ring. Valhalla knocks her down with a forearm strike. She sends her into the ring. Nile comes back with an enzuigiri. She hits her with an uppercut and follows it with an hurricanrana.

Valhalla hits Nile with a headbutt. She sends Nile to the apron. Nile slams her head on the post and follows it with a bulldog off the top rope for the win.

Winner: Ivy Nile

The New Day are backstage and they are joined with Jey Uso who brings them some ice. Jackie interviews them. Woods says they are sick and tired of people trying to walk over them. He says they are the best tag team in the WWE. Kofi says that’s what happens when you push the titles. He says he wants Gunther and he challenges him for the Intercontinental Championship next week on RAW.

Nia Jax’s music plays and she walks to the ring. Jax gets on the mic and says the first time she came face-to-face with Rhea Ripley, she squashed her. She says the first time she faced Becky Lynch, she squashed her. She says Rhea wants to face Becky at WrestleMania because she knows she can beat her. She says Lynch is on her path to WrestleMania. Jax says she is going to kill both of their dreams.

Becky Lynch’s music plays and she comes out. Lynch asks her to shut up. She says she knows she has a big target on her back heading into the Royal Rumble match but Jax has a bigger target because the locker room doesn’t like her. Lynch says she nearly injured half the roster. She says she not sure if she going to enjoy winning the Royal Rumble or watching Nia lose.

Bayley’s music hits and she comes out. She says both of them are going to lose. She says she came out to find Rhea Ripley but this is better. She says she is here to make it clear that she is winning the Royal Rumble. She shoves Becky into Nia and attacks her. Nia attacks Bayley in the corner. Lynch hits the Manhandle slam on Bayley. Nia sends Lynch out of the ring. Nia hits the leg drop on Bayley.

The Miz vs. Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio’s music plays and he comes out with Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

*Commercial break*

Becky Lynch runs into Rhea Ripley backstage.

The Miz’s music plays and she walks to the ring.

The match begins and The Miz attacks Dominik in the corner. Balor gets a cheap shot on The Miz and Dominik sends him out of the ring. Dominik hits a suicide dive on Miz. He sends him back into the ring and hits a senton.

Mysterio attacks Miz viciously. The Miz comes back and attacks Dominik in the corner. JD distracts him and Dominik takes advantage knocking him out of the ring.

*Commercial break*

The Miz fights back with a couple of clotheslines. He hits a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Balor distracts Miz and Dominik tries to take advantage. Miz dropkicks Balor. He then hits a crossbody on Mysterio. Cover! 1…2…kick out. Miz with the IT kicks on Dominik. Dominik goes for the 619 and misses. Balor with the cheap shot on Miz and Dominik hits the 619 and follows it with the frog splash for the win.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Finn Balor attacks Miz. DIY comes out and attacks them. The Miz hits the skullcrushing finale on JD McDonagh. Balor pulls JD out of the ring.

Jackie interviews Damian Priest who congratulates Dominik. R-Truth comes in and offers him his cut from the merchandise sale. Priest says this is not the time. R-Truth leaves him. Priest says Drew talks about when he was the man but that was when everyone was struggling but now he can’t get the job done. Priest says one way or another he will be champion. He says Drew will receive his punishment tonight.

Chad Gable vs. Ivar

Chad Gable’s music plays and he comes out to the ring.

*Commercial break*

Bronson Reed is backstage and he says eventually his path is going to cross with Jey Uso and he challenges him to a match on RAW next week.

A video of Alpha Academy plays where Gable lifts Otis. Tozawa also tries to lift Otis.

Ivar’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring.

The match starts and Gable attacks him. Ivar comes back with a spinning slam. Ivar goes for an elbow drop and misses. Gable hits a swinging neckbreaker. Gable climbs the top rope and hits a flying headbutt. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Ivar sends Gable out of the ring. Ivar hits him with a splash.

*Commercial break*

Gable hits the superplex on Ivar. Gable knocks Ivar out of the ring. Ivar kicks the post. He sends Ivar into the ring. Ivar hits the powerbomb. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Gable locks in the ankle lock but Ivar powers out of it. Ivar sits down on Gable. Ivar climbs the top rope and hits a leg drop. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Ivar goes for the spin kick but Gable catches him and locks in the ankle lock but Ivar gets to the rope.

Ivar hits the spinebuster on Gable. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Ivar climbs the top rope and goes for the doomsault and misses. Gable hits the German suplex. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Gable climbs the top rope but is stopped. Gable recovers and hits the German suplex. Gable climbs the top rope but Valhalla distracts him and Ivar slams him. Ivar climbs the top rope and hits the doomsault for the win.

Winner: Ivar

CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are shown walking backstage on their way to the ring.

Cody Rhodes’ music plays and he comes out to the ring. CM Punk’s theme song plays and he walks out to the ring.

CM Punk says they have been on different paths to get here. He says he hopes they can be friends on Sunday morning. Cody asks Punk what he wants to talk about. Punk says he wants to talk about Dusty Rhodes. He says Dusty called him in 2007 and told him he sending Cody to OVW to start his journey and he asked him to keep an eye on Cody. Punk says he said yes to Dusty.

Punk says Cody kept himself out of trouble and he watched him grow into a main event superstar. He says he is proud of Cody. He says he feels like he is breaking a promise on Saturday as he won’t be looking out for him at the Royal Rumble. He says he is going to win the Royal Rumble.

Cody says he was worked with many legends in this business. He says when they see him they can’t help but see Dusty Rhodes. He says he wants to be his own man. He says he showed up to OVW with no matches under his belt while Punk had toiled on the Indies for ten years and he treated him like a peer. He says there are no friends in the Royal Rumble.

Punk asks what about Sunday morning. He says he can separate business from personal but this business is personal for Cody. Punk says he never saw a nepotism hire at OVW, he saw the burden of his last name. He says Cody has come out of his father’s shadow.

Punk says they had different paths but they have the same goal. Punk says his father was an electrician and he is more of an American dream than Cody is. Cody says he wants to talk about the pipe bomb. Cody says Punk inspired countless including him. He says then Punk left and dropped the torch. He says he picked up that torch.

He says he did everything Punk spoke about which makes him more CM Punk and Punk himself. Punk says Cody has carried this company on his back for two years and he made the cover of a WWE 2K video and right when he is about finish his story, Punk is coming to take it away from him. Cody says Punk is looking out for him again. He says Punk may be right but he must move forward through Punk. He walks away shoving Punk but Punk turns him around and they have a stare-down. Both men walk away.

Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark vs. Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae

Indi Hartwell’s music plays and she comes out with Candice LeRae.

The match starts with Candice and Shayna. Candice hits her with a couple of arm drags. Zoey tags in. Candice tags out and Indi attacks her. Candice tags in and hits a hurricanrana sending Stark flying into Baszler.

*Commercial break*

Indi hits a spinebuster on Zoey. Candice tags in and knocks down Shayna. She hits Stark with a dropkick. She hits the codebreaker on Stark and the senton on Shayna. Shayn locks in the Kirifuda clutch but Stark tags in and hits the Z360 on Candice for the win.

Winner: Zoey Stark & Shayna Baszler

Asuka and Kairi Sane attack Kayden Carter and Katana Chance from behind.

Jackie interviews Drew McIntyre who says he has nothing to say about Cody and Punk. He says he heard what Priest had to say. He says he is sick of people trying to put a negative spin on his title reigns. He says Priest is not ready to be World Champion. He says there is only room for one chosen one.

*Commercial break*

Damage CTRL are walking backstage. Natalya and Tegan Nox walk into them and they argue. Adam Pearce asks them to save it for the Royal Rumble. Pearce says he didn’t invite them to create trouble. Bayley says he better get used to seeing more of them after the Kabuki Warriors win the titles. They walk away and Pearce runs into Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher and he asks what plans Pearce has for him. Pearce agrees to meet them in his office.

Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre

Damian Priest’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring.

*Commercial break*

Drew McIntyre’s music hits and he comes out to the ring.

The match begins and Drew knocks down Priest. Priest comes back and knocks down McIntyre. Priest attacks Drew in the corner. McIntyre returns with a clothesline. Priest knock Drew out of the ring. Drew hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Priest. Drew sends Priest into the ring.

McIntyre knocks Priest out of the ring. Priest sends Drew into the post. He hits the broken arrow onto the announcer’s table.

*Commercial break*

Priest with a clothesline to Drew. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Priest goes to work on Drew. Priest and Drew knock each other. Drew with a clothesline to Priest. He hits a belly-to-belly suplex and follows it with a neckbreaker. Drew goes for the Claymore and misses. Priest misses with the spin kick. Drew hits a spinebuster. Cover! 1…..2….kick out.

Priest claps the ears of Drew and follows it with the flatliner. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Priest with multiple strikes to Drew who comes back with the Glasgow kiss. Drew climbs the top rope and goes for a dive and misses. Priest hits the broken arrow. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

Drew rolls out of the ring and Priest dives onto him. Priest sends Drew into the ring. R-Truth comes out to give him his cut. Priest shoves him. Drew hits the futureshock DDT. Truth goes to put his money in the briefcase and he is asking for the password. Drew punches him and goes for the Claymore on Priest but Priest hits the South of Heaven. Cover! The referee is distracted by Truth. Priest sends Truth out of the ring and Drew hits the Claymore on Priest for the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre
