Von Wagner had been booked as a babyface in his feud with Bron Breakker and since then, he has been used sporadically from time to time. He has been off NXT television lately and now the reason for that has been revealed.

Von Wagner had a promising start to his NXT career in 2021 but has yet to truly break the glass ceiling even now. Fans started getting behind him after his feud with Bron Breakker but things haven’t been going the best for him now.

Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is no specific reason for Wagner’s absence from television following a notable push as a weekly TV character.

According to Meltzer, there hasn’t been an injury or any related issue. Wagner wrestled before the latest NXT show and was back on the show, initiating an angle with Noam Dar.

He’s just not been used, but there was no injury or anything like that and he wrestled prior to the NXT show this past week and was back on the show shooting the beginning of an angle with Noam Dar, seemingly replacing Josh Briggs in an angle they had been pushing for weeks.”

Most recently, Wagner competed in a dark match at last week’s NXT TV event, where he emerged victorious against Keanu Carver. His latest TV match took place on the January 5th episode of NXT TV, where he and Beau Morris were defeated by No Quarter Catch Crew (Damon Kemp & Myles Borne). We will have to wait and see what’s next in store for Von Wagner.
