Mercedes Mone’s future in professional wrestling is uncertain, with indications suggesting a move to AEW. Opinions differ on whether her presence in AEW would be a game changer, but Eric Bischoff holds a contrasting view. Bischoff even recently stated that he believes Mercedes Mone will no longer be a star if she joins AEW.

In light of WWE and Mone’s talks falling apart, there is a lot of creeping suspicion that Mone has already signed a deal with AEW. However, she has yet to appear on AEW television for the time being.

While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff discussed Mercedes Mone’s wrestling future, emphasizing that returning to WWE would be more beneficial for her. Bischoff expressed the belief that signing with AEW could effectively end her career, citing financial success and potential backstage factors as considerations. According to him, WWE would offer Mone greater financial rewards.

“I don’t know her [Mercedes Mone] motivation. I mean, she’s gonna make more money and have more success in WWE. There’s no question about that. So, from a financial point of view, it’s a WWE move. Now, is there s*** going on backstage or relationship-wise? Is there political baggage there that is clouding the picture? I don’t know. But, if I’m her or I’m her agent or business manager, I’m gonna try to go to WWE because that’s where she’s going to make the largest amount of money.”

The Hall of Famer elaborated that joining Endeavor would offer Mercedes Mone better prospects for transitioning to Hollywood post-wrestling. He argued that although she might earn more with Tony Khan, her status as a star would effectively end.

Bischoff pointed to the track record of former WWE stars who moved to AEW and suggested their careers did not reach the heights of their WWE peak. However, he acknowledged the appeal of a lucrative paycheck, noting that if it ensures financial comfort, he would make a similar decision.

“Could she make more money with Tony? Yes. But her career as a star is effectively over at that point. And if one doesn’t agree with that statement, look at any other ‘former WWE star’ that is better off today than they were at the peak of their careers in WWE. I’m not talking about the guys who were on their way out the door or the guys that really, you know, hadn’t been used very often.”

I’m talking about people that were at their peak of their careers in WWE. They make that move to AEW. Their career is not what it was. It’s the end of the road. But if the end of the road comes with a big old fat paycheck so you don’t need anymore road, I’d be right there with you. I’d do the same thing.”

Mercedes Mone was also very busy last weekend as she attended TNA’s Hard to Kill pay-per-view alongside Bayley, as they came to support Trinity. It remains to be seen what Mercedes Mone will decide in the end, as fans are waiting for her next big move.
