An AEW star has accused a fellow roster member of engaging in “politicking” to achieve success within the company.

In the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite from North Charleston, SC, Christian Cage is set to defend his TNT Championship against ‘The Natural’ Dustin Rhodes, both of whom are experienced veterans in the wrestling industry. However, Rhodes recently took to Twitter to express his grievances and make accusations against Cage.

Rhodes criticized Cage, referring to him as a “kiss ass” and insinuated that Cage had used backstage politics to further his career in AEW. He contrasted his own career, which he claimed has been built on grit and determination, with Cage’s alleged politicking. Rhodes stated:

“I hear the odds are not in my favor. THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN IN MY FAVOR, but I will say this @Christian4Peeps, my whole career I have had to fight for everything I have and this is no different.”

“The difference between you and me is, you’re a kiss ass who politicked his way into everything, I fight for it with grit and determination which is something you don’t have.”

“See you Wednesday night d*ckhead #AEWDynamite @TBSNetwork @AEW.”

Cage’s match against Rhodes marks the beginning of his second reign as TNT Champion, which commenced on the same night that his first reign with the belt ended, during AEW Worlds End on December 30.

Despite Rhodes confronting Cage on Dynamite, it appears that former TNT Champion Adam Copeland is not finished with his former tag team partner, as indicated on the most recent episode of AEW Collision on January 13.

What are your thoughts on the accusations made by Dustin Rhodes against Christian Cage regarding politicking in AEW? Do you believe such backstage politics play a significant role in a wrestler’s success, or is it primarily about talent and hard work? Share your opinions on this situation and its potential impact on the AEW roster dynamics.
