Tony Khan has taken some flack for using Cagematch ratings to determine how well his company’s matches are doing. Eric Bischoff was not shy in waging a Twitter war over that subject. It appears that one AEW star also uses Cagematch ratings for a very important reason.
Brody King saw one fan tweet out with the trend of teasing AEW talent over Cagematch ratings. This fan said, “using Cagematch for ratings and comments is the worst way to use Cagematch. You’re supposed to use Cagematch to see what random indie cards 2 Cold Scorpio showed up on in the late 90s and dig further down the rabbit hole until you’ve spent 23 minutes looking at results.”
The House of Black member fired back and let everyone know how important Cagematch is to him. He apparently uses it for very official financial reasons.
“You’re supposed to use Cagematch for proof of employment history for mortgage companies.“
Body King may have been joking, but this sentiment about Cagematch ratings is not going away. Perhaps Tony Khan put his foot in his mouth with that remark, but we’ll never know if he changes his tactics until he lets fans know that he is no longer logging in to check those Cagematch scores.
We will keep our eye on this story, and so much more, here at Ringside News. You never know what will break next, but we will be here with all the headlines you need.
