AEW has been leading a steady yet exciting trajectory ever since its inception. Amid their viewership drops, they seem to be headed towards growth with the addition of a new COO on board. The Tony Khan-led promotion brought Kosha Irby, WWE’s former Regional Director of Live Events, most likely as the COO.

In reaction to this, AEW’s Director of Business Development, Jeff Jarrett, spoke about the growth of his company. During the latest episode of his My World podcast, he said that he’d met Kosha previously once and that both were mutual in their belief that AEW needed a COO for its own growth.

“If you think about the growth of AEW, going from two hours of Dynamite and Rampage in the early days, and then just kind of the growth, I’m elated. COO I think is a position that has been needed for quite some time. I don’t think that is sharing anything outside of the box. But I think it’s part of, I don’t want to say growing pains, but it’s the growth of a company. So I’m very, very excited for Kosha to be on board.”

AEW has recently seen several key members depart the company who’d been attached to it since its early days. The names include the likes of Rafael Morffi, Dana Massie, and QT Marshall. However, Tony Khan still let them go on a sweet note, saying that he was open to working with them in the future.

Irby comes from a highly experienced background. He has worked in the AAF as the President of the Memphis Express, the Chief Marketing Officer for the Clemson Tigers, and more. It remains to be seen how this impacts the future of the company, though his welcome to the company seems positive so far.
