Ilja Dragunov Returns During 1/16 WWE NXT To Set Up Vengeance Day Title Match

Ilja Dragunov’s absence was felt when he was off television. It appears that the NXT Champion’s time off is over, and he seems to be healed up after taking that shot from Ridge Holland.

NXT Vengeance Day will take place on February 4th, 2024, at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee. It will be quite a show, and now we know the NXT Title will be defended.

Ilja Dragunov was supposed to defend the NXT Title against Trick Williams already, but he was banged up and couldn’t wrestle at New Year’s Evil. Now, the NXT Champion is back.

During this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Ilja Dragunov returned during a backstage segment. He interrupted Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams as they had a discussion backstage.

Dragunov apologized for missing his New Year’s Evil match. Then he booked a mach for Vengeance Day against Trick Williams.

Carmelo Hayes didn’t seem thrilled about this move. After all, the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Cup are going down at the same event. We will have more on this story, and so much more, right here at Ringside News.
