It has been a while since CM Punk came back to WWE and many have finally processed his comeback. It didn’t take long for Seth Rollins to go after The Second City Saint as well and now even Jinder Mahal admitted that he has mixed emotions about Punk’s return.
CM Punk’s return at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event had significantly boosted WWE’s stock, setting records. Seth Rollins, visibly angered by Punk’s comeback, is now embroiled in a storyline which will likely culminate at WrestleMania 40 this year.
While speaking with Gaelyn Mendonca on WWE India, Jinder Mahal shared mixed emotions about CM Punk’s return and aligned with the current World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. Mahal expressed excitement as a fan for Punk’s return and potential matches but acknowledged Rollins’ perspective.
“So, I’ve mixed emotions. The fan in me is excited for CM Punk’s return. I’m excited for the matches, I’m excited to get in the ring with CM Punk. But, I do see Seth’s [Rollins] point because I was there when CM Punk was in WWE last time and Seth also has a point. Nonetheless, let’s see what CM Punk does, let’s see his attitude, let’s see his reactions, you know. Let’s see if he offers the opportunities to the younger superstars, let’s see.”
Jinder Mahal emphasized the importance of observing Punk’s attitude, reactions, and impact on younger superstars. Despite being excited, Mahal questioned if Punk still possesses the same prowess and labeled him as one of the all-time greatest.
“Overall, I’m excited but I can see Seth’s point at the same time, we have a new generation of fans. Some people watching haven’t seen CM Punk before and this is the first time they’re seeing CM Punk. But, CM Punk is one of the all-time greatest and I’m curious to see if he still has it. So, let’s find out.”
Before Seth Rollins can continue his feud with CM Punk, he has to contend with Jinder Mahal as he will be defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on RAW next week. We’ll have to see how things will turn out for the Modern Day Maharaja.
