WWE brought a loaded episode of SmackDown to FOX this week. They built toward the Royal Rumble as the blue brand carried on in Triple H’s vision. Now we know how the viewership turned out.

According to Alfred Konuwa, the January 12th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight viewership of 2.267 million viewers, with 766k of them in the 18 to 49 demographic. That number was down a bit from last week’s episode.

The January 12th episode of SmackDown continued their build toward Royal Rumble. Although Roman Reigns wasn’t there, his absence was certainly felt as his Bloodline stablemates had to compete in a handicap match against AJ Styles, LA Knight and Randy Orton in the main event. Logan Paul and Kevin Owens also got to hype their US Title match through video segments, which set up a KO Show for next week.

The January 6th episode of SmackDown, their New Year’s Revolution special, brought an overnight average of 2.33 million viewers, with a .6 in the 18 to 49 demographic. That number was up from the previous week’s best-of episode.

The December 29th episode of WWE SmackDown brought in an overnight average of 1.32 million viewers for their best-of 2023 episode. This was down from the previous week’s average.

The December 15th episode of WWE SmackDown drew an overnight viewership of 2.154 million, with 667k of those in the 18 to 49 demographic. That number was down slightly from last week’s number.

The December 8th episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.29 million viewers, with a .57 in the 18 to 49 demographic. The December 1st episode of WWE SmackDown drew an average of 1.952 million viewers, with a .53 in the 18 to 49 demographic. This number was up significantly from the previous week’s average on FS1.

We will have to see how WWE books the blue brand from this point on, because 2024 could be an amazing year for pro wrestling fans. They certainly brought quite a show this week, and there is no off-season in WWE. Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for more!
