Sean Waltman hasn’t really stepped inside the ring in quite a while but that doesn’t mean fans don’t want him to compete again. With the Royal Rumble set to take place this month, rumors have suggested that Waltman could make his in-ring return at the event. The rumors have become so rampant that Sean Waltman decided to set the record straight about a potential return at the Royal Rumble this month.
The WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event will be taking place on January 27, 2024, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was recently reported that Sean Waltman is among the names discussed for a return at the Royal Rumble, which obviously got a lot of people talking.
Last week, talks circulated at the Performance Center hinting at Waltman being in Florida for the Rumble weekend. His “maybe” response to a fan’s question about the 2024 Rumble last year fuels further speculation.
In light of such reports, Sean Waltman took to Twitter and set the record straight regarding a potential return at the Royal Rumble. Waltman mentioned being capable of a few minutes in the ring, emphasizing his ability to execute all his kicks. However, he noted that it’ll be a few weeks before he’s comfortable taking his shirt off in public.
“I can still go at the drop of hat, at least for a few minutes. I can do all my kicks, except the one in the corner & I can do that again with a few weeks training. I’m at least month away from taking my shirt off in public, so zero chance I’ll be in the Rumble.”
Interestingly enough, Sean Waltman had previously stated that he would only make an in-ring return at the Royal Rumble. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see whether Waltman will end up returning at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on January 27th, as fans would more than love to see that happen.
