The ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ series by Vice Media has captivated many viewers by delving into the darker facets of professional wrestling, revealing hidden and often obscure details about specific wrestlers and organizations. The fourth season wrapped up last year, and fans can now rejoice as the show has been officially renewed for a fifth season.
Previously, Vice Media, which encompasses Vice TV, filed for bankruptcy on May 15th, 2023, as part of a strategic move to facilitate the potential sale of Vice Media for $225 million. Concerns naturally arose about the fate of ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ following this financial development. However, co-creator Evan Husney reassured fans that the series would remain unaffected by the bankruptcy proceedings.
Fortunately, Husney’s assurance has proven accurate, as PWInsider has reported that ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ is set to return for its fifth season. The show is scheduled to make its comeback in March of this year.
“ViceTV has renewed Dark Side of the Ring for a fifth season. The current plan is for it to debut this March.”
The fourth season, which ran from May 30, 2023, to August 8, 2023, focused on wrestling personalities like Doink The Clown, Marty Jannetty, The Junkyard Dog, Abdullah the Butcher, and Bam Bam Bigelow. As anticipation builds for the fifth season, fans and critics alike will be eager to see what new revelations and stories it brings to light.
