Jinder Mahal is getting a lot of attention right now, and a lot of that stems from the fact that he is getting a WWE World Heavyweight Title shot against Seth Rollins on the January 15th episode of WWE RAW. That triggered Tony Khan and a controversy started after that.
Although Jinder Mahal went on to delete his response to Tony Khan’s tweet, the message was heard loud and clear. Now, fans are taking a look at the numbers.
X/Twitter user EliteClubS0B recently shared viewership figures for AEW programming, indicating that AEW Dynamite garnered 801,000 viewers, AEW Collision reached 402,000, and AEW Rampage achieved 406,000. The cumulative total for these AEW shows stands at 1,609,000 viewers. That number of all three shows together doesn’t even add up to WWE RAW’s viewership.
In comparison, Jinder Mahal’s segment on last week’s RAW attracted a viewership of 2,154,000. Obviously, these numbers sparked a fair amount of attention when they were posted.
AEW will continue to attract attention however they can, but it may not translate into viewership. It will be interesting to see how AEW fares tonight, as they bring a Homecoming show to Daily’s Place.
Only time will tell how Jinder Mahal and Seth Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship match turns out. If anything, these numbers certainly put things into perspective when you’re talking about how many fans are actually tuning in to each show.
