Ivar of the Viking Raiders has wrestled on his own for a while now after his tag team partner Erik got injured in September. That was on full display during this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW as he won yet another match. Ivar has now given his finisher a brand new name as well, following his victory.
Ivar has transitioned into a prominent mid-card star on the red brand, securing impressive victories in recent months. He has been showing off a diverse set of moves, including a top rope moonsault, displaying aspects of his wrestling repertoire that were less visible during his time as a tag team competitor.
During this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Ivar utilized the moonsault to secure a victory over Otis from Alpha Academy. During the broadcast, Wade Barrett referred to Ivar’s finishing move as the “Doomsault.”
Ivar took to his Instagram and uploaded several photos of himself performing the top rope moonsault on RAW this week, as he acknowledged what Barrett had said and dubbed his moonsault as the ‘Doomsault.”
Ivar also previously made it clear that he wants to square off against Goldberg in the latter’s retirement match. We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Ivar in the coming weeks, as the company is clearly high on him right now.
What do you think of this new finishing move name? Is Ivar truly having the run of his career right now? Let us know in the comments section below!
