Rob Gronkowski is a four-time Super Bowl champion and many consider him one of the best football players in the current era of the sport. In order to build hype for next year’s Super Bowl, Gronkowski is set to face John Cena at ‘Kick of Destiny 2’ for the Super Bowl.
According to PWInsider, Rob Gronkowski returns with a new commercial ad series, “Kick of Destiny 2,” in partnership with FanDuel during the 2024 Super Bowl. The series consists of four ads, with the first premiering during wild card weekend.
In FanDuel’s “Kick of Destiny 2,” Gronkowski ventures to Las Vegas, attempting a field goal just before the Super Bowl kick-off. Kay Adams, the host of FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams,” will commentate as Gronkowski takes his shot at destiny in front of a live audience.
The initial ad in the “Kick of Destiny 2” series shows Gronkowski navigating the desert, haunted by last year’s missed kick. An unexpected coach arrives to lift him from his slump. The integrated campaign follows Gronkowski’s redemption journey. John Cena is also set to be part of the ad series in the future, who can’t wait for Gronkowski to miss his kick.
“I rarely get to play the villain so I’m ready to fully embrace this role,” said John Cena. ”I remember watching Gronk’s kick last year and am so excited to be working with a brand like FanDuel to make this sports moment more exciting for their fans, but do I think he’s going to make it? No chance!”
John Cena’s inclusion in the “Kick of Destiny 2” ad for the Super Bowl brings along an element of surprise and intrigue, showing off just how good WWE and NFL’s relationship is even now. We’ll have to see how Cena’s role will be portrayed in the future ad.
