Sammy Guevara has faced controversy and backlash over his past remarks about Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone from 2016. However, his wife, Tay Melo, has come to his defense, emphasizing that he has grown and changed since then.
In a Twitter post, Tay Melo expressed her frustration with people judging Guevara based on a mistake he made in 2016, a time when she did not know him, as she was living in Brazil and didn’t speak English. She acknowledged his past mistakes but also highlighted that people can learn, grow, and change.
She went on to describe the Sammy Guevara she knows today as a spectacular man who has matured and become even more caring and responsible. She praised him for putting his family first, particularly during challenging times, and for being a loving and supportive partner and father.
‘‘I get really upset when I see people hating on him or judging him for a mistake he did in 2016 ( I lived in Brazil & didn’t even speak English back then).
I strongly disagree with his past mistakes but I also believe people pay for it, learn and grow. I didn’t meet the 2016 Sammy, I met a human that I know would not make the same mistakes. The Sammy I met is a spectacular man.
The Sammy I got married is an even more mature man that is so lovable, caring and responsible.
The Sammy I had a daughter with is the BEST man I ever met, the man that put his family first, the man that took care of me and newborn baby in that hospital when I thought I wouldn’t make it alive, the man that makes me feel loved and amazing in the horrible postpartum I’m having.I just wish you all could see the real Sammy, the one I know.”
Tay Melo wished that others could see the real Sammy she knows and appreciate the growth and positive changes he has undergone. Sammy Guevara has faced criticism due to his association with Chris Jericho, who has been at the center of allegations related to his actions towards Kylie Rae. Despite the backlash, Guevara and Jericho are teaming up again in AEW and will be challenging for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
