WWE may have room on their roster and payroll to bring back any number of former stars. Although things may not work out with everyone, it appears that Andrade is on his way back.
By all appearances, Andrade El Idolo left AEW with the intention of going back to WWE. It appears that he is clearing out his schedule as well, which is typical for people entering WWE from the indies. After all, WWE’s schedule doesn’t really allow for indie dates.
Andrade El Idolo previously debuted for GCW at the ‘Highest In The Room 2’ event on December 9th, 2023, where he squared off against Joey Janela. There was a hope that he would make his return, but that isn’t in the cards.
Game Changer Wrestling announced that Andrade El Idolo has withdrawn from the GCW No Compadre event. Originally slated to face Jonathan Gresham at the upcoming event on Friday, January 12th, El Idolo will be replaced by Lio Rush in that matchup.
Due to circumstances out of control, ANDRADE and MAKI ITOH will be unable to compete on Friday’s event in Chicago.
The following replacements have been signed: MASHA SLAMOVICH will replace Maki Itoh
LIO RUSH will replace Andrade
*Additional Matches TBA tonite and this week*
The reason for Andrade El Idolo’s removal from the event was not revealed, but many assume this is all part of the process before his WWE return. As of this writing, his contractual situation is unclear, but he might have already re-signed with WWE for all we know.
We will keep a close eye on Andrade El Idolo’s situation. You never know when they can surprise us with his return. The Royal Rumble may be a possible location for his return, but only time will tell how it all goes down for Charlotte Flair’s husband.
