The Rock made a highly anticipated return to Monday Night RAW this week, emphasizing his status as one of the biggest stars in WWE history. He beat up Jinder Mahal on the show and now Mahal wants to face The Rock in India.
The Rock’s comeback on the Day 1 edition of Monday Night RAW was a major highlight and surprise. The Great One made a stunning return, as he shut down Jinder Mahal on the mic before hitting a spinebuster on him. The Rock then wound up teasing a potential clash with Roman Reigns.
During a recent interview with Sony Sports Network, Jinder Mahal reflected on sharing the ring with The Rock and expressed confidence in his performance until he received a spinebuster.
Despite the setback, Mahal believes he had The Rock’s confidence choked and issued a challenge for a match “anytime in India.” The Modern Day Maharaja made it clear that he wants to face The People’s Champion in a ring in India.
“I had many good points before Rock even came out. I was feeling confident until I was on the receiving end of, you know, Rock gave me a spinebuster. Up until then, I really believed that I had The Rock. You know, I had his confidence choked. I could see the look in his eyes. You know, I am the Modern Day Maharaja, he may be The People’s Champion, they were cheering him on. For someone who had no respect from the crowd, I think I did really well. I want to issue a challenge to The Rock. Anytime in India, you can step into the ring with The Modern Day Maharaja.”
WWE’s reason for opting not to announce The Rock’s last couple of appearances beforehand was also revealed. We will have to wait and see if The Rock will respond to Jinder Mahal’s challenge.
