WWE’s NXT brand has fans eagerly looking forward to every episode for the past year or so from all over the world, thanks to Shawn Michaels’ incredible vision for the show. Unfortunately, NXT fans in the UK are now facing a major setback regarding their replay options for streaming on the WWE Network.
TNT Sports 1 used to regularly air WWE programming in the UK, including RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. However, the show was not listed on the UK channel guides during Christmas week.
As Ringside News exclusively reported, UK WWE Network subscribers were informed that from NXT’s New Year’s Evil show on January 2nd, NXT would air exclusively on the WWE Network.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that fans from the U.K. are complaining about NXT being canceled by TNT Sports and now exclusively airing on the WWE Network.
Viewers expressed dissatisfaction with the delayed replay on the WWE Network, available 24 hours after the live broadcast from 1-3 a.m. local time on late Tuesday. In contrast, FITE, featuring all AEW shows live without commercials, provides instant replays after the live broadcast.
”We got complaints from the U.K. regarding NXT, which was canceled by TNT Sports as of last week and only airs on the WWE Network there. The complaint is that while the show does air live from 1-3 a.m. late Tuesday local time, the WWE Network doesn’t put the replay up for another 24 hours and most viewers aren’t watching it at that time slot live. They note that FITE, which has all the AEW shows live on its streaming service with no commercials, has replays up as soon as the live show is over.”
UK fans will now need to tune into the WWE Network, but it’s clearly not going well for them right now. We will have to wait and see if the WWE Network will rectify their issues and release replays sooner than 24 hours.
