Hulk Hogan blazed a trail in pro wrestling, and many have walked behind him. The Hulkster is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, and he entertained millions for years. Now, WWE is apparently preparing to celebrate that career.
Hulkamania ran wild for a long time in WWE, and the company helped Hogan become a pop culture icon. Years later, and Hulk Hogan is a bit different, but Hulkamania is still money for WWE.
According to a new report from WrestleVotes, WWE is gearing up for some major Hulk Hogan promotion. This will include new merchandise as he approaches his 40th year of Hulkamania.
WWE plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hulkamania this month with various new merchandise items & collectibles for Hulk Hogan. I’m told an appearance by Hogan is not out of the question but also not planned as of now. The recognized start of Hulkamania has generally been when he defeated the Iron Sheik for his 1st WWE Championship on 1/23/1984.
Hulk Hogan doesn’t appear for WWE very often anymore. At this point, he only makes special appearances. The last time we saw Hogan on camera, it was in the police video footage of his son, Nick Hogan’s DUI arrest. Hogan was walking with the assistance of a cane.
We will have to see what WWE has planned to celebrate Hulk Hogan. There are certainly a lot of reasons to mention his name, and they will apparently cash in while they are at it.
