WWE has a lot of plans at all times, but there are always going to be unexpected developments that could change things. Sadly, they had to change up plans for the NXT North American Champion Dragon Lee due to unforeseen circumstances.
It was previously reported that Dragon Lee was pulled from NXT New Year’s Evil. He was set to be in a match, but that isn’t happening now. This should serve as a big spoiler about what WWE has planned to replace him.
Fightful Select noted that Carlito is set to replace Dragon Lee. After all, Lee can’t make it to the United States due to visa issues, but that isn’t a problem for Carlito.
“The Latino World Order has been scheduled to face Quarter Catch Club on tonight’s episode of NXT. However, it was revealed that Dragon Lee was off of tonight’s show, and is no longer planned for the episode.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned that Carlito is at today’s episode of NXT and was around ringside preparing to compete. As of now he is the planned teammate of the LWO on tonight’s show.“
We will have to see what WWE has in store for fans at NXT New Year’s Evil. Carlito is apparently going to fill in for his LWO stablemate, leaving us to wonder when Dragon Lee will be back.
Hopefully, Dragon Lee can figure out whatever this issue is with his visa. The new year can also bring a lot of new problems, even with the fresh start it gives us.
As a reminder, Ringside News will have live play-by-play coverage of the show over in our WWE NXT results hub.
