Roman Reigns is set to make a highly anticipated return to WWE television on the first SmackDown episode of 2024, and fans are eagerly awaiting his presence.
Reigns’ last in-ring appearance was at Crown Jewel, where he successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against LA Knight in November. However, he did make a few appearances on SmackDown last month to kick off the Royal Rumble build.
The main attraction for the upcoming episode is a triple threat match featuring Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight. The winner of this match will earn the right to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the upcoming PLE event later this month.
In addition to this marquee match, the New Year’s Resolution episode of SmackDown will feature other exciting matchups, including WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY defending her title against Michin and a tag team match with Butch teaming up with a yet-to-be-announced partner to take on Pretty Deadly. United States Champion Logan Paul will also be making an appearance on the show.
Fans can expect a thrilling return for Roman Reigns, and his presence is sure to add significant excitement to the start of the wrestling year in 2024.
Speaking of Reigns, he is also advertised for the SmackDown event on January 19 in Atlanta, Georgia, further solidifying his role as a key figure in WWE’s plans for the near future.
As a reminder, Ringside News will have live play-by-play coverage of the event over in our WWE SmackDown results hub.
