CM Punk and Jack Perry had been suspended following their backstage confrontation at AEW All In, which eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk. Khan would then provide the reason behind Punk’s firing, where Khan stated that he feared for his life because of CM Punk. Punk came back to WWE last month and with Punk openly trying to help NXT talent lately, Jim Cornette believes this exposes Tony Khan’s claims as lies.

CM Punk and The Elite had a lot of issues right from their backstage brawl at AEW All Out last year, which essentially sowed the seeds of Punk’s eventual departure. Many people were still sad that Punk was gone from Tony Khan’s company. None of that mattered as CM Punk would make his way back to WWE at Survivor Series, ending a decade-long hiatus.

CM Punk was backstage on the December 12th edition of NXT television and before that as well. He has also paid a visit to the WWE Performance Center. Reports have suggested that CM Punk could be considering an NXT leadership role in the future, but Booker T doesn’t think that will happen.

While speaking on Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, Jim Cornette noted how CM Punk had been spending more time with talent back in NXT. Cornette then added WWE has exposed Tony Khan’s claims that Punk creates an unsafe environment to be completely baseless and false.

The guy that Tony fired and made a heel out of, a f***ing danger to the public and a god**mn menace out of, ‘I was scared for my life in the atmosphere he had over there in that company,’ has visited NXT and probably will again. I have no doubt that he’s either going to offer to or they’ll ask him to speak to the trainees in the program down there.

That already shows you the difference in ‘What the f**k!’ Because they know it’s bulls**t. They know he was working with children and blah blah blah. He’s not going to go in there and go, ‘Okay, I’m here to take over. We’re going to rise up against the man. Mutiny. Mutiny.

Even AEW President Tony Khan previously broke his silence regarding CM Punk’s WWE return at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event. Chris Jericho also responded to CM Punk’s WWE in-ring return after ten years. Punk is more than happy being back in WWE and that’s all that matters to him now.
