WWE used to consider Madison Square Garden their home. Tonight, the company rolled through the World’s Most Famous Arena once again, and it was quite a historic show.
CM Punk made his in-ring return at MSG on December 26th. The Second City Savior took on Dominik Mysterio in singles action.
Sami Zayn also returned to the ring after his short hiatus. The fans in NYC had quite a fantastic live event. Those fans also turned out in a big way to see the event go down.
According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, the December 26th Madison Square Garden live event broke records. It was said to have been the highest-grossing non-television event of all time for WWE with a total sell out.
Internal WWE live events reports claim that WWE’s live event in Madison Square Garden was sold out. The event was said to be the highest grossing domestic non-televised event of all-time for WWE.
We will have to see how 2024 turns out for everyone involved. At this point, WWE has been on a roll, and they don’t show any signs of stopping. CM Punk’s return to the company, and so much more, gave fans a huge reason to turn out in NYC on the day after Christmas.
