Sami Zayn’s Royal Rumble Betrayal Recreated by Peacock in WWE 2K23 Holiday Special

Sami Zayn has been working in WWE for a decade now and when it comes to perfecting storylines – Zayn truly was in a league of his own for a long time. His involvement in The Bloodline angle catapulted him to a level he had never reached before. Interestingly enough, Peacock decided to recreate Zayn betraying Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble via WWE 2K23 as part of their Holiday specials.

The Survivor Series WarGames match last year helped prove Sami Zayn’s loyalty to The Bloodline. However, that all changed after Zayn ended up betraying Roman Reigns and The Bloodline at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.

Sami Zayn challenged Roman Reigns for his titles at Elimination Chamber in his hometown of Montreal. Zayn had the crowd in the palm of his hand as they all cheered for him to beat Reigns, but he wasn’t able to do it in the end.

Nonetheless, Zayn betraying Reigns remains one of the biggest moments in WWE this year. Therefore, Peacock decided to recreate the shocking betrayal in WWE 2K23, complete with the voiceover as well as game-related actions.

Sami Zayn is currently out of action after Drew McIntyre viciously attacked him on Monday Night RAW earlier this month. It remains to be seen when Zayn will return to WWE television.
