AEW WrestleDream delivered a night of incredible moments that will be remembered for a long time, with Adam Copeland’s debut being the biggest moment in the whole show. Copeland was part of WWE for 25 years and quite a few fans were upset over his AEW debut, but Copeland already moved past that. Copeland also revealed why he started Judgment Day in the first place.
The Judgment Day is comprised of Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. Together, they have been wreaking havoc in WWE. Rhea Ripley and Mysterio have seen the most growth during their time in the faction
Back in June last year, Finn Balor joined Judgement Day and ended up taking over the faction. They all kicked out Adam Copeland and shocked fans. It marked the first time Balor was a heel in pro wrestling in many years.
While speaking with the 3NT Wrestling podcast, Adam Copeland talked about the formation of The Judgment Day. The Rated R Superstar revealed that the group was formed because he felt Balor, Priest, and Ripley could do more.
”That was the idea with Judgment Day. I saw Priest, I saw Rhea, and I saw Finn and I knew they could do more. Finn had been given a bit of an opportunity with that, but I knew there was so much more untapped stuff. That to me was all fun and all true. I truly felt they were underutilized. That’s what I think I would like to do if I were to do it again.
Who are these people that I could bring in and feel the difference when you’re out there of that that feels like, to really listen to an audience and be engaged with them, but understand that you’re the one pulling the strings, they’re not pulling your strings. That’s a big shift in mindset that at some point you have to take if you want to make it to the top. I know I’m going to get off and go, ‘Oh, this person, that person, this person.'”
Rhea Ripley also admitted it was hard to re-establish The Judgment Day after kicking out Adam Copeland. Regardless, The Judgment Day is now one of WWE’s hottest acts and Adam Copeland couldn’t be happier.
