AEW has a loaded roster full of incredibly talented in-ring performers from all over the world and that includes Japan. After all, AEW has the likes of Hikaru Shida, Riho and more on their roster. That said, AEW has not made any serious play to bag a top international star.
In case you didn’t know, WWE has wanted to sign top Japanese star Giulia for years. It was reported that Giulia is expected to pay visit to the WWE Performance Center. This sparked a lot of interest and fans were certainly intrigued to see what will happen next.
However, she has yet to visit the Performance Center. In the meantime, many fans are still wondering if there is a chance AEW will end up bagging Giulia by offering a solid contract.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that AEW has not made any serious play to acquire Giulia and hasn’t even had any talks with her. Therefore, her destination could be WWE or remain in Japan.
”Nothing new on Giulia past that AEW has never made a serious play for her and she’s had no conversations with AEW and is not considering them. It’s WWE or staying in Japan”
Giulia has not informed those in Japan whether she intends to stay with NJPW or leave for WWE. Her career in NJPW began in 2020, and she currently holds the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship as well as the Artist of Stardom Championship alongside Mai Sakurai and Thekla. It remains to be seen what will become of Giulia in the end.
