Ridge Holland had been one of the mainstays of Friday Night Smackdown after he joined up with Sheamus and Butch. That changed after he returned on Butch last month on SmackDown and made his way to NXT, where he ended up putting Ilja Dragunov away on a stretcher. Now Holland has finally reacted to his actions after NXT.
The December 19th episode of WWE NXT was taped in advance, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t many fans who don’t check spoilers. This week’s NXT saw Ilja Dragunov squaring off against Ridge Holland, who was back in NXT.
Ilja Dragunov is in the middle of an impressive run as NXT Champion, but fans feared it might be over after this week’s show. This is because Ridge Holland spiked Ilja Dragunov on the head with a DDT, which rendered him motionless and the match had to be called off. Dragunov was then stretchered out to the back – shocking fans.
Ridge Holland took to Twitter and finally broke his silence after the shocking incident, as he apologized to Ilja Dragunov for what happened and stated that he is not that kind of person.
”I’m sorry for what happened @UNBESIEGBAR_ZAR. This not who I am. Get Well Soon”
WWE’s internal reaction to the stretcher spot was also revealed. We will have to wait and see when Dragunov will return to NXT television as New Year’s Evil is just around the corner.
