Paul Heyman has been one of the most well-known and established names in the pro wrestling world for decades. His mind for the industry is genuinely genius, as Heyman truly understands the business. He and Kayla Braxton have been connected for a long time and now Braxton revealed the origin of one of their running gags.
Kayla Braxton is currently one of the highlights of WWE’s interview sections. Her interesting relationship with Paul Heyman has contributed to her popularity, but there is much more to her than that.
Kayla Braxton joined WWE in 2016 but fans didn’t immediately warm up to her as she had to work hard to get recognized in WWE. Thankfully, her relationship with Paul Heyman helped her out immensely.
While speaking on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight, Kayla Braxton talked about her relationship with Paul Heyman and how he helped her out. She then revealed how the running gag of her always jump-scaring Heyman during an interview came about.
“Paul Heyman. I give a lot of credit to Paul. I had so much fun doing all that back and forth with him with the Bloodline. Paul and I were doing Talking Smack together and we didn’t really know each other at the time.
We didn’t really interact a lot and getting to know him on that panel and getting to go back and forth and realizing we’re both kind of spitfires helped immensely. Then he got me on camera to do those bits with him on SmackDown with the Bloodline. Now I am the sassy backstage interviewer.
I don’t even remember how the first one happened. A lot of times like Paul and I would just go. There’s not really talking about beforehand. We just [said] whatever happens, happens. I think that his freakout happened on one and it just hit big. So we just kind of kept doing it. [It] got a good reaction, fans loved it.”
Miss Braxton is currently a mainstay WWE personnel for the company, but she has other things to keep her engaged. Regardless, fans will forever love it whenever Paul Heyman and Kayla Braxton interact on WWE television.
