RVD is regarded as one of the all-time greats as far as in-ring action and death-defying stunts are concerned. His innovative moveset put him above his competition in many ways, but it appears RVD hinted at a WrestleMania 40 appearance despite his initial claim.
The WWE Hall of Famer has competed all over the world in various pro wrestling promotions such as WWE, ECW, Impact Wrestling and now AEW, among many others. He is never afraid of sharing his wealth of knowledge with those who simply ask for it.
Earlier this year, RVD claimed that an appearance at WrestleMania 40 might have been cancelled due to the fact that he appeared on AEW television a few times already at that point.
While speaking on Marty Jannetty’s “Party with Marty” podcast, RVD mentioned how his AEW appearnace might have cancelled his upcoming appearnace at WrestleMania 40. However, he then hitned at being pre-booked for the event anyway.
“Allegedly I got booked for an appearance, and then allegedly that appearance was canceled when I showed up on an alleged competitor’s TV program, and then allegedly I might be pre-booked — either way, I’m going to be there at WrestleCon!”
RVD also previously made it clear that he has no intention of retiring. Regardless, we certainly hope the WWE Hal of Famer will be able to appear at WrestleMania 40 next year in some capacity.
