Charlotte Flair is the Queen of WWE, who has established herself as one of the greatest in-ring competitors in the history of WWE. Sadly, she is out of action due to a knee injury and won’t be back for a very long time. That said, Bianca Belair has found the silver lining in this whole ordeal.
On the December 8th episode of WWE SmackDown, Charlotte Flair squared off against Asuka in a solid match. With Damage CTRL present ringside, the match could have gone either way. That said, The Queen fell lost to The Empress of Tomorrow after Bayley interfered in the match.
What followed raised concerns among fans and WWE talent alike. Reports started circulating that Charlotte Flair might have sustained an injury during the match. In a distressing moment, she was seen clutching her knee and crying out, “My knee!” Medical personnel rushed to her side after the match, making fans genuinely worry about her well-being.
During WWE SmackDown last week, it was revealed that Charlotte Flair will be out of action for 9 months. While speaking on ROAR Around The Ring, Bianca Belair was asked to share her thoughts on Charlotte Flair’s injury. Belair admitted that it was a huge blow to the WWE women’s division but the silver lining was the fact that it presented an opportunity to other women to step up.
“It is a huge blow. Charlotte Flair has been such a vital part of our women’s roster. She’s created so much history. She’s a legend. I’m not even gonna say a legend in the making.”
“With the accolades that she has, she’s a legend. It’s really hard knowing that we’ve lost someone like Charlotte Flair right now for nine months.”
“Me selfishly, we all know I’ve always looked up to Charlotte Flair, I’ve always wanted to have a dream match against her, with her, it doesn’t matter as long as I can be in the ring with her.”
“But it does open up an opportunity for someone else, and that’s just the way this business is. I always say, you gotta stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.”
“You never know when your opportunity’s gonna come, whether it’s your time, whether it’s another spot that opens up.”
“So we’ll have to see who steps up. At the end of the day, we’re all fighting for a spot at WrestleMania.”
“So I’m even looking for my path to WrestleMania, ‘Am I gonna be on WrestleMania this year?’ So it’s very unfortunate, but it’s a spot that’s opened up for someone to shine.”
Charlotte Flair might have suffered additional injuries due to the unfortunate botch as well. It remains to be seen who will end up becoming a bigger name now that The Queen will be absent from WWE television for a long time.
