AEW Dynamite Results (12/20/2023):

Continental Classic Gold League: Swerve Strickland vs. Rush

Swerve Strickland’s music plays and he walks out to the ring. Rush’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring.

The match begins and Swerve kicks Rush. He then chops him. Rush comes back with a forearm strike sending him out of the ring. Rush dives onto Swerve. He sends Swerve into the ring and attacks him in the corner.

Rush with a powerslam. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Swerve comes back and targets the injured leg. Rush rolls out of the ring. Swerves goes for a kick but Rush drops him on his head. Rush sends Swerve into the barricade. Swerve comes back with a German suplex. Rush recovers and hits a dropkick.

*Commercial break*

Rush hits a German suplex. Swerve comes back and hits a German suplex. They then knock each other down. Both men exchange strikes. Rush throws Swerve into the corner.

Rush goes for bull’s horns but his leg gives out and Swerve locks in the stretch muffler. Rush gets out of it. Rush with a forearm strike and he follows it with a straight jacket piledriver. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Swerve rolls to the apron. Both men exchange strikes on the apron. Rush with a belly-to-belly throw off the apron. Rush sends him back into the ring.

Rush climbs the top rope and goes for a senton and misses. Swerve hits the 450 splash. Cover! 1….kick out. Swerve with the flatliner and he follows it with the brainbuster. Cover! 1….2…kick out. Swerve hits the house call. He the hits the Swerve stomp for the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Chris Jericho is backstage and he says last week Omega ended up in the hospital due to diverticulitis. He says Omega is out of AEW indefinitely and he doesn’t know how long that will be. He says that affects their title shot. He says the most important thing is Omega’s health and they’re pulling for him. He asks Omega to take as long as needed and the Golden Jets will resume when he returns.

Continental Classic Gold League: Jay Lethal vs. Mark Briscoe

Mark Briscoe’s music plays and he walks out to the ring. Jay Lethal’s music hits and he walks to the ring.

The match starts and Jay slaps Mark. Mark chops Jay in the corner multiple times. They both exchange strikes. Lethal with a hip toss and a dropkick. Mark is sent to the apron. Mark hits a dropkick off the second rope. Cover! 1……kick out.

Jay hits a suplex on Mark who rolls to the apron. Lethal knocks him off the apron. Lethal dives onto Briscoe. Briscoe hits a suplex on the floor. He then hits an elbow drop off the apron.

*Commercial break*

Lethal with the Lethal Combination. He climbs the top rope but is stopped. Both men fall down. Lethal climbs the top rope but is knocked off by Mark. He then dropkicks Lethal. Briscoe dives onto Lethal.

Lethal returns with a German suplex. He then hits the rolling senton. Lethal with the elbow drop. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Mark slams Briscoe. Briscoe hits the fisherman’s buster. Cover! 1….2…kick out.

Mark with the Death Valley driver. He goes for Froggy Bow but Jay gets his knees up. Lethal with the Jay driller. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Briscoe with the burning hammer and he follows it with the Jay Driller for the win.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

*Commercial break*

A video package of Wardlow saying that he is going to break MJF and bring him to his knees.

Samoa Joe’s music plays and he comes out. Joe says he has come out to seek answers. He says Strong has a valid point. He says there have been many victims of the masked men. He says there was no footage of MJF getting attacked. He calls out MJF.

MJF’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring. He says he got jumped in the back of his head but he is being accused of being the Devil. MJF says Joe promised to protect him. MJF says the goons didn’t attack Joe. He says he doesn’t like him or trust him. He says he wants to end his world right now.

MJF shoves Joe. The goons enter the ring and Joe and MJF fight them off. The lights go out. The Devil appears on the titantron and disappears with a message challenging him to an ROH World Tag Team Championship match. MJF asks Joe to help and Joe accepts. Joe says next week they will beat up his goons.

Renee interviews Best Friends. Rocky says he has been looking for new opportunities and he wants to win gold. Cassidy says he will see him this Friday and walks away.

Toni Storm’s music plays and she comes out.

Number one contender’s match for the AEW Women’s World Championship: Saraya vs. Riho

Saraya’s music hits and she walks out to the ring. Riho’s music plays and she comes down to the ring.

The match begins and Saraya knocks down Riho. Riho comes back and knocks down Saraya who rolls out of the ring. Riho with a tiaras. She does it again and again. Saraya hides behind the security guard and attacks her. Saraya slams Riho into the barricade.

*Commercial break*

Riho comes back with a Tiaras. She then hits a Tiger Feint Kick and follows it with a crossbody. Cover! 1….2…kick out. Riho goes to work on Saraya. She attacks Saraya in the corner. She climbs the top rope and goes for a dive but Saraya kicks her. Cover! 1…..2…kick out.

Riho returns and knocks her down. She then hits the stomp and follows it with the double knees for the win.

Winner: Riho

Toni Storm comes down to the ring. Riho attacks her and hits the Tiger Feint Kick. Mariah May attacks Riho with the Women’s Title.

Tony Schiavone gets on the mic and says he has a statement from Christian Cage. He reads the letter which asks the crowd to shut down. He says the hole in his absence has affected the fan’s lives. He says he is on vacation with Nick Wayne. He says he will return this Saturday on Collision where he will answer Adam Copeland. He expects a hero’s welcome when he returns.

*Commercial break*

Samoa Joe and MJF argue backstage. He then walks away and spots a mask on the floor outside the Mogul Embassy’s dressing room. He knocks on the door and questions Prince Nana. Swerve comes out and confronts him. MJF says they have a long history and now Swerve is all grown up. He says he is proud of him.

MJF says they have never made eye contact because Swerve is not on his level. Swerve calls MJF the best chaffeur in his life. He warns him about how he talks to him. MJF says Swerve is getting good at talking. He says he is the World Champion and he asks him to shut up.

MJF says he finds a couple of things hard and he says Swerve wants to be AEW World Champion and accuses of attacking him. He asks if Swerve is the Devil. MJF says if he feels like he will break out his arms. Swerve says he will bring hell if he keeps showing him the title. Samoa Joe interrupts and says they have business elsewhere.

Roderick Strong vs. Komander

Roderick Strong’s music plays and he walks to the ring. Komander’s theme song plays and he walks to the ring.

The match begins and Strong knocks down Komander and kicks him. He attacks him in the corner. Omander comes back with an armdag and a tiaras. He follows it with a dropkick sending Strong outside the ring. Strong recovers and kicks him. He then hits a backbreaker. Strong and Komander fall to outside the ring.

*Commercial break*

Komander with a superkick. Komander with a couple of forearm strikes. He then hits a crossbody. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Strong drives Komander into the corner and chops him. He sets him up on the top rope. Komander knocks Strong off the top rope. Komander hits the Phoenix splash. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

Komander climbs the top rope but the Kingdom pulls Strong out of the ring. Komander hits a moonsault on them. He sends Strong into the ring and goes for a dive but he catches him with the knee. Strong hits an end of heartache for the win.

Winner: Roderick Strong

Renee interviews Strong who asks Joe to listen to him that MJF is the Devil. He says Hangman Page was taken out for mentioning MJF is the Devil. He says Joe is his best friend by proxy.

Continental Classic Gold League: Jon Moxley vs. Jay White

Bullet Club Gold’s music plays and Jay White comes down to the ring. Jon Moxley’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

The match starts and White leaves the ring. White gets back in the ring. Moxley locks in the sleeper hold. He hits him with the anvil elbows. He hits a piledriver. White rolls out of the ring.

White sends Moxley into the steel steps. He sends Moxley into the ring and attacks him in the corner. Moxley comes back and hits a back drop on White. He sends White into the ring. Moxley attacks White in the corner. White takes out the legs of Moxley. White knocks Moxley off the top rope.

*Commercial break*

White goes to work on Moxley. White chops Moxley who recovers and knocks him down. He attacks him in the corner. Moxley sets him up on the top rope. Moxley hits a superplex. He knocks White out of the ring and hits a suicide dive.

Moxley is slammed into the steel steps. White grabs a couple of chairs. The referee stops him. White gets in the ring. The referee starts the ten count. Moxley gets back into the ring and he hits the paradigm shift. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

Both men exchange strikes. White with a dragon screw on Moxley. Moxley rolls him and hits a knee strike. Cover! 1…..2….kick out. Moxley hits the cutter on him. White comes back with a sleeper suplex and the urinagi. White with the Kiwi crusher. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

White with another sleeper suplex but he comes back with a lariat. He hits another lariat. Moxley hits the stomp and goes for death rider but White counters and hits the blade runner for the win.

Winner: Jay White

Swerve Strickland’s music plays and he comes out. White attacks Moxley’s knee.
