WWE has a lot of plans as they wrap up 2023, and they are doing so with new Women’s Tag Team Champions. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter dethroned Chelsea Green and Piper Niven during the December 18th episode of WWE RAW, much to the chagrin of Green.

Ringside News had complete coverage of WWE RAW’s December 18th episode. There were quite a few notable events, but only one title change.

During the show this week, they set up a #1 contender’s match for the January 1st Day One episode of WWE RAW. Natalya and Tegan Nox will take on Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark for a chance to take on Kantana Chance and Kayden Carter first.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the next #1 contenders will likely be Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler. It appears that things just didn’t click for Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, so they had to move onto another idea.

“They’re gonna do Natalya and Tegan Nox versus Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler, which will probably be Stark and Baszler going over. Leading to them facing Chance and Carter, which, you know, I like the idea of Baszler against Katana Chance. You’ve got the big bully and the little woman. I think there’s a nice dynamic there. Zoey’s a good worker, so that plays into it, too.”

We will have to see what is next for WWE’s Women’s Tag Team Division. That division hasn’t received a ton of love from the booking, but 2024 could change things with the right pair of champions.
