CM Punk has appeared for every WWE brand at this point since his shocking return to the company. NXT is a friendly place for Punk, and there could be some great things in the pipeline.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall during his Backstage Report podcast that CM Punk didn’t take Shawn Michaels’ endorsement lightly. In fact, the Second City Savior showing up so much at the Performance Center could be a good sign.
It was also noted that many may have been rolling their eyes at Shawn Michaels’ words, but CM Punk apparently took it seriously. Punk and HBK also got along very well at NXT Deadline.
“HBK said that he wanted Punk in NXT, and Punk didn’t take that endorsement lightly. Another source in NXT said that they got along as good off-screen as they did on-screen at NXT Deadline. When Shawn Michaels publicly endorsed CM Punk, a lot of people rolled their eyes, and said, ‘yeah, I bet.’ Well, look at where CM Punk has been multiple times as of late. Going to NXT. Going there when he doesn’t have to, and working to help out. Maybe it’s just the honeymoon period, but it seems like that endorsement, whether or not that had anything to do with Punk going to NXT, couldn’t have hurt.”
There are a lot of people who are waiting to see what happens with CM Punk during this run in WWE. He didn’t work out the first time, and then his AEW run 7 years after that blew up. Now, he is back in WWE, but only time will how it all ends.
If anything, CM Punk is inspiring a lot of people, and showing a great worth ethic so far. He also seems very happy to be home.
