AEW is going to have to figure out what to do without Kenny Omega. Now, The Cleaner is out of action, and we have a bit more information on the matter.
Kenny Omega recently signed a multi-year deal with AEW. However, he has encountered an obstacle in his plan, leading to his current absence from action.
In a recent update, Kenny Omega shared that he is out of action and did not provide details about the nature of his injury. He mentioned that his doctors identified the issue in a timely manner. The timeframe for his return remains unknown.
Sean Sapp has now reported on X to say that Kenny Omega was suffering from an illness last week. He still worked a match against Ethan Page, but he was apparently sick from diverticulitis
We’re told Kenny had been ill throughout the last week, even ahead of his match with Ethan Page.
He still did the match and the promos, and sought medical attention after, where he was hospitalized and diagnosed with diverticulitis.
Get well soon to Kenny.
This situation with Kenny Omega may not be an injury, because this report suggest it is an illness. The nature of that illness was not disclosed, but we’re hoping that The Cleaner gets better as soon as possible.
As of this writing, we have no idea what Tony Khan will do about the Golden Jets vs Ricky Starks and Big Bill at Worlds End. The event is going down on December 30th, so hopefully, Omega has time to recover.
