WWE has a lot of things going on, and they have already announced television deals for 2024 for NXT and SmackDown. That leaves WWE RAW as a big question mark, and Warner Brothers Discovery is a huge part of the conversation.

We previously reported that WWE bringing back CM Punk was lauded by Eric Bischoff as a tremendous financial win. It appears that Punk may have also helped open the door for WBD to step in, a company was previously wanted to buy WWE.

During the most recent episode of Rumor and Innuendo, Nick Hausman stated that he has received contradicting messages about CM Punk’s pull with Warner Brothers Discovery. They do love Punk, but there is also apparently doubt within WWE that Punk really has that kind of “clout” to shift such a large television deal.

I’ve just been hearing a lot about how much Warner Bros Discovery really love him and see him as a factor. It’s really strong, the message that’s been going out right now. I don’t know how much hype I wanna get into. It’s a lot of rumor and innuendo.”

“I’ve heard people say that Punk, the person that reopened these conversations, that he brought Warner Brothers to WWE. I haven’t had anyone confirm that to me, but if Punk does turn out to be a factor, look I had people in WWE telling me that ‘there’s no way that Punk has that kind of clout with Warner Brothers Discovery.”

Dave Meltzer noted on F4WOnline that WWE is using CM Punk’s name as a big drawing factor to inking a deal with RAW. Now that Punk comes with the red brand, it will be interesting to see what happens.

One report we had was that Punk was a major part of the pitch, with the idea he’d be a regular on the Raw brand. The report we had included pushing his merchandise sales and social media views along with ratings of recent shows.

Ringside News reached out for comment on this story, but could not receive any confirmation. We will keep our eye on this story for further updates.

CM Punk is really enjoying himself this time around in WWE. Only time will tell if that translates into a much larger role in the company’s television rights talks. We will have full coverage of whatever happens next, right here at Ringside News.
