CM Punk’s return to WWE was a big deal, and the gravity of the situation is still panning out. Not only are they selling a boatload of merchandise, but his name could also help spark a new blockbuster television deal for RAW. Eric Bischoff agrees that it was a good decision.

Eric Bischoff went on record by saying that CM Punk’s return to WWE would add no value to the company. Then, Easy E saw them bring back CM Punk, and he realizes how massive of a deal it is.

During a clip from his recent 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff admitted something that few would have dreamed him to say. He proclaimed that WWE signing CM Punk’s return to WWE was an outstanding financial decision on WWE’s part, perhaps even the greatest in the history of the business.

By the way, I’m going to go on the record right now. The acquisition of CM Punk to WWE might have been one of the most financially successful acquisitions in all of pro wrestling. WOW DID I JUST SAY THAT?!”

CM Punk has two house show matches scheduled so far, both against Dominik Mysterio during WWE’s Holiday Tour. He is also already announced for the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match, where he is the odds-on favorite to win.
