AEW Talent Speaks Out on CM Punk Drama’s Impact on ‘The Team’

CM Punk had a fairy tale debut in AEW and everything seemed to be going well for Punk until it all came crashing down abruptly after Double or Nothing 2022 and then All Out that year. Punk has long since been fired from AEW and now an AEW talent commented on the drama surrounding CM Punk when he was in the company.

CM Punk and The Elite had a lot of issues right from their backstage brawl at AEW All Out last year, which led to a ton of drama in AEW. Other backstage scuffles ensued afterwards, even after Punk returned to AEW during the debut episode of Collision.

CM Punk was sacked from AEW back in September after Punk had a backstage fight with Jack Perry at AEW All In. This eventually led to Tony Khan firing CM Punk from AEW – something that many felt was necessary.

While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge, AEW star Satnam Singh talked about CM Punk’s return to WWE. Satnam Singh admitted that all the drama that ensued surrounding Punk was not good for AEW at all.

”Good luck for him, whatever he has. He has a great opportunity in WWE, so good for him. Good luck for the future. Good luck with everything.

“I’m really happy to see him over there again, so I hope he has a great opportunity over there.”

“But whatever happened, that’s not good, you know. It’s not good for our team or our company.

“You have to stay down to earth, and you have to be nice to everyone. You have to be happy with everyone you know.”

Some also believe that jealousy led to CM Punk’s potential being wasted in AEW.  Chris Jericho also revealed what the AEW locker room thought of CM Punk’s WWE return. It remains to be seen how CM Punk will fare in WWE as things seem to be going well for him so far.
