Drew McIntyre has been paving his way through WWE with ease. He recently won out fights against the likes of Sami Zayn and Jey Uso on the last few episodes of WWE Raw. This led to the announcement of McIntyre challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the January 1 Monday Night Raw episode.
He has also spoken about leaving his current chapter behind to focus on obtaining the championship. This fame also leads to awkward real-life situations with fans. However, McIntyre has figured out how to play these situations, at least when he is confronted by hoards of fans at the airport.
In the latest episode of WWE’s The Bump, McIntyre explained how he differentiates between his real and fake fans. He revealed how he “tests” the public before signing autographs or taking pictures.
“When everyone rushes up to me with every piece of merchandise in the world, I say, ‘No autographs right now, only pictures,’ and half of them walk away. Then I say, ‘There are some who are actually my fans, and then I say something for everybody else. So I’ll be testing you all right now like I’m testing the public. We’re living in a weird world right now; it’s not just WWE.”
The Scottish Warrior has crafted a niche for himself. During the pandemic, he won the WWE Championship and has been trying to recapture the glory after losing it to Bobby Lashley. As per recent reports, he is also considering other options as his WWE contract is nearing expiration.
