CM Punk has been on a roll after returning to WWE at Survivor Series last month and he has become progressively a bigger draw with every passing day, as fans continue to get more and more excited when they see him. He hasn’t competed in a match yet but now some have urged WWE to use him sparingly.
The Second City Saint has appeared on Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT Deadline after he returned to the company last month. It has become clear that Punk is simply a major draw for the company.
CM Punk is scheduled to enter the ring against Dominik Mysterio as part of WWE’s Live Holiday Tour on Tuesday, December 26th at Madison Square Garden. That’s not all as he is set to compete at Los Angeles’ KIA Forum against Dominik Mysterio on December 30th right after that.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray talked about CM Punk’s current run in WWE. He suggested that the company should use Punk sparingly via a limited schedule, therefore preserving Punk’s star power.
“I think they should be very careful. I think they should treat Punk like a mini-version of Roman [Reigns] when it comes to his matches right now because that match against Seth [Rollins] will mean that much more if we only get a few Punk matches along the way,” Ray explained. “They might have to throw somebody in Punk’s way before Rollins.”
CM Punk has confirmed that he will be part of Monday Night RAW going forward. Punk also confirmed he will be part of the Royal Rumble match next year. It remains to be seen how Punk will be booked in the coming weeks.
