TNA Wrestling is currently on a hot streak as the company is set to undergo several changes come January 2024’s Hard to Kill event. In light of this, the promotion has signed quite a few good talent so far. Now the company has signed yet another former WWE talent.
The latest addition to the promotion is none other than KUSHIDA, the former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion. The official announcement was made on the promotion’s website, confirming KUSHIDA’s commitment to TNA Wrestling.
It’s official, KUSHIDA has signed a contract with TNA Wrestling.
As a longtime New Japan Pro-Wrestling standout, KUSHIDA has held the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on multiple occasions.
KUSHIDA has been on the precipice of success since his arrival last year, taking Steve Maclin to his limit in an IMPACT World Championship match at Rebellion 2023.
It’s time for KUSHIDA to take his career to the next level and it happens in TNA Wrestling!
A distinguished veteran from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, KUSHIDA has a robust resume, having held the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Championship and the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championships multiple times during his tenure with NJPW.
KUSHIDA’s stint with WWE spanned from April 2019 to April 2022, culminating in a noteworthy achievement as he captured the NXT Cruiserweight Title in 2021. He held the championship for an impressive 160 days.
Following his departure from WWE, KUSHIDA ventured into other wrestling promotions. He even made a one-time appearance for AEW, where he faced Darby Allin in a TNT Championship match, which he lost back in January this year.
KUSHIDA has been actively competing for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and has also become a regular presence in the IMPACT Wrestling scene. This signing comes on the heels of Trent Seven, another former WWE Superstar. TNA is trying to make sure they are more than ready for 2024 and they are doing well so far. We’ll have to see how 2024 turns out for the company.
